Again, great. The mist, that wonderful mist and clouds! When we were in Colorado, the thing I missed the most - believe it or not - was the mistiness of the mountains in the east.

yes, our blue ridge mountains are so special. even with the grandeur of the rockies, I miss the moist intimacy of our little mountains.

Well, I don't guess I'll leave them, now. At one time, we almost stayed in Colorado (which I love, as I have loved everywhere I have lived), but we came back because all of our family lives here in the East. My parents' home is still to us "home" and we get together with my three sisters and all of our assorted children, mates, and dogs to spend time with Mama and Daddy in the misty, moisty mountains. Now that I think of it, following the tradition of all the generations of my ancestors as soon as they immigrated to this soil in the early 1700s. Too many roots to dig up and transplant to the beautiful and spectacular Rockies!

I'm with you on this. I've lived in Texas, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania...but coming back to the south and the Blue Ridge and staying here (at least as my home base even though I love to travel far and wide) has felt like absolutely the right place to be...
